Ichupa Rainwater Harvesting Tank™️

(The Original  & The Eight That Folloowed)

Not only was our first Ichupa Rainwater Harvesting Tank completed in August 2017, but soon eight more rainwater harvesting tanks were constructed by our Chief Engineer for North Road Primary School in Mbale Town and at Mt. Zion Church in Malukhu/Mbale. We refer to these as "The Original Nine" to help tell our story of our humble beginnings with the WWF Climate Crowd and into our now journey of building across Uganda.

(Our First Partnership)

After learning about our new initiative, EU AID Volunteer Sophie Schillings approached our founder and Chief Engineer to ask us whether we would be interested in building a replica of the rainwater harvesting tanks constructed at North Road Primary School for her school. The moment seems forever ago, but it was then that we began believing more in Ichupa's mission.

We are proud to be a trusted partner for private clients, households, and compounds seeking our expertise in environmentally-friendly practices. Easy to spot our distinctive Ichupa look though!

Our First Government Contract!

With funding provided by the Institute for African Development at Cornell University, in partnership with the Mbale District Medical Officer Dr. Jonathan Wangisi, Ichupa successfully established twelve 10,000L rainwater harvesting tanks in Namawanga HC III, Busiu HC IV, Busano HC III, and Bufumbo HC IV. These tanks were strategically installed across four health centers, where the cost of admission often equates to three jerry cans of water. This initiative has significantly improved water accessibility and enhanced the quality of healthcare services in the region.

E.A.D.E.N.

After completing several rainwater harvesting tanks for EADEN's climate-smart initiatives, funded by Caritas Denmark, we are fortunate to continue in our partnership across several years and highlight a longstanding relationship beginning in 2018. Through our partnership, Ichupa recognized how our technical design suits a plethora of purposes including a "climate-smart" trend and promise to our one and only planet.
